2/10 Poor

Cheap but not worth it
Stayed for one night and had a very uncomfortable night of no sleep. The hotel has a one pillow per guest rule, and there is an aggressive sign at the front desk saying they won't give out more pillows. The room was boiling hot even with the window open (on a chilly March evening) as the radiator couldn't be turned off. The walls were very thin so you could hear everything in the room next door. No shampoo or bodywash was provided. Even with how cheap it was compared to other hotels in the area, I wouldn't say it was worth the price.

4/10 Fair

Pro: It is close to King’s Cross station and buses. Cons: The morning receptionist was very friendly, but the evening receptionist did not acknowledge you as you walked through even when being spoken to. No restaurant as advertised. Lots of stairs, including once we opened our door to the room we had to go down a few stairs to get into the room. It was very warm in the room and temperature could not be adjusted. We had to open a window a couple of times to make it more comfortable. The phone in the room was not hooked up, so the service desk could not be easily contacted. They give you a couple tiny individual packets of shower gel, but no shampoo or conditioner. Bring your own toiletries.

Ok for one night. Room was too hot, walls thin..
The location is fantastic, it’s ideal for being close to King’s Cross train station. Also good bus links to other parts of London. The building is old, however, looks very tired inside definitely needs some updating. I could smell stale cigarette smoke at the reception. The first night my room was so hot, I had to sleep with the window open… I couldn’t turn off the heating. I woke up with a really bad headache. The second night they couldn’t fix the radiator, so they moved me into another room. Which I thought was great customer service. The staff are really nice here, kind people. However both rooms I stayed in were narrow, thin walls. I could hear the people next door to me have a conversation and they were so loud late at night. It was a nice feature having the kettle. But I could not fill it up with water, because the sink was too small… Also, the second night, the bed didn’t have a headboard so it was basically a mattress against the wall (photo attached). The mattress was okay, but the pillow seemed a bit tired and thin. Ok for a base. A little expensive for the value I got.

Nothing amazing.
Very standard room, thin walls and very small TV. Bathroom door was loud to close. Wouldn't want to stay for more than one night..
