We knew from reviews that the hotel was a little worn around the edges. However, this was minor in comparison of what this hotel has to offer. The staff were helpful, the room was spacious and the hotel was in the CBD and close to the railway station. We had a great stay there.

This property should be stated that it is a “classic” property. It is from the late 30’s early 40’s and so are the rooms. Pretty sure this hotel has not been redone since it’s launch back in the day. The furniture Is from my parents era and my dad is 90! The bed was ok, a little soft for my wife and I who are quite fit and like a firmer mattress. The bathroom was huge and we love great water pressure but this will keep the tile grout clean😜. Kitchen amenities were ok but the Coffee French Press was super small. Now to be fair I’m comparing this Quest to the Quest in Rotorua which was fantastic. The location of this Quest was fabulous aside from the parking which as close but expensive. The windows are single paine so it’s noisy downtown and there is no AC so if you want some fresh air you need to open a window. I would recommend this hotel only for its location and that’s it. We love staying in boutique places but they can be brought up to current standards and still be boutique. This one needs a big $ injection.

We loved our apartment in the Quest Wellington. Lovely Art Deco building with spacious rooms and high ceilings. Comfy bed, great shower. Washer and dryer and well equipped kitchenette. Brilliant central location, some noise but it was not intrusive. Very helpful staff. Thanks for a great stay.

The door intercom is faulty and the phone number for after hours access is disconnected. Eventually I was able to get through via the other after hours number and selecting random extension. Over 12 attempts on intercom which would all cut off after 1 minute and nobody opening door became very stressful.
