Nice place
Very nice place to stay on Maui. The hotel is in need of some TLC. Staff are efficient and friendly. Walking distance to local shops and golf club. Restaurant is excellent. Would stay here again.

Nice location but old and diryy
Beautiful beach and location, however the hotel is now old, dated and in urgent need of renovation. Dirty carpets, marked walls and bathroom fitting not working. Had to wait at LEAST 5 minutes for hot water. But probably the worst was the breakfast. Absolute horrible and filthy dirty. I would not eat there.

Week in Paradise
Our week at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel was once again very nice. Location is great and the beach is fabulous. Service and cleanliness were very good. New HuiHui restaurant is great and the new snack bar (burgers, pizzas, etc.) is convenient and quite good. Being within easy walking distance to Whaler's Village with the shops and restaurants is also great. KBH stresses Hawaiian culture (hula, lei-making, mat-making, lei ceremony, etc.) which is nice & appreciated. But scheduling for these activities could be better communicated.

Awesome, flawless vacation! Highly recommended!
Excellent vacation! Will visit next year. The mattress sloped to one side, too soft. Else, everything, snorkeling, ha canoe and Hawaii culture was awesome!

Pay More and Stay Somewhere Nicer
They say, you get what you pay for and I get that. However, for the price we paid, I don’t think we got anything near our money’s worth. Room reeked of a weird smell that was there throughout our stay (we had to buy an air freshener). Beds were uncomfortable and pillows were so tiny (we bought our own pillows from the local Ross). The WiFi certainly reminded me of dial up days, quite choppy with a weak signal. My son was not able to watch anything online and that made him quite unhappy. We basically did not walk around the room barefoot. That’s how grossed out we were. I have stayed at all kinds of hotels, but I have to admit that this was one of the worst, especially for a place like Hawaii. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is great and the beach was awesome, but as a hotel, if you charge $250-350 a night, it is only fair to step up your game and upgrade your rooms.
