Great value and location
Hotel is a bit dated, but the location and price can’t be beat! If you’re outside of the hotel room most of your stay and mostly just need a place to sleep this hotel is great! 10 minute walk to whalers village where they have an ABC market and lots of food options (cheaper than the hotel). Can see whales right from the beach. Did the three mile walk and the end where this hotel is, in my opinion, has the better beach and is right by black rock which is great for snorkeling. Mattress looked new but was a bit soft for my liking. Housekeeping staff was very nice and helpful. Very thankful for the A/C! I’d stay here again.

older hotel with higher prices
the hotel is older, the toilet made a terrible sound and we were made to wait 30 minutes to check in. the bed was comfortable and the view was perfect. overall i will not stay again because i felt the check in clerk was judging me because i was dressed in my swimsuit

Beautiful relaxed hotel.
Beautiful relaxed hotel- with a proud Hawaiian heritage. Best location on Maui for the sun, but a bit out of the way for visiting the rest of the island- but it’s still manageable.

VERY FAR from kahului
it was ok, the room had no microwave, and the room just felt like it was stuck in the '70s,

Great Spot
Hotel was great. We enjoyed every moment from check in to check out. Very nice atmosphere and right on the beach. It’s a quick 5 minute walk to Whaler’s Village too that has shops, restaurants, and coffee shops.

Good if you don't expect more than you pay for
Very nice staff, wife enjoyed the food as we usually came back late so ate at hotel. Best thing is access to beach/ocean. This is right next to "Black Rock" cliff diving point (beach is very clean, soft, white sand, perfect clear water). Sunset is nice but blocked by neighboring island with permanent clouds. (drive a few miles to South part of Maui to White Rock beach in Wailia if you want perfect sunset) Good value-based hotel right on the best beach for snorkeling / swimming / floating. it is an older hotel so don't expect room service or all the bells & whistles of a 4 star hotel. Fridge but no microwave (example). We didn't spend time in the room except to sleep so saving money on room, and having direct access to beach/ocean was perfect for us. and half the cost (or less) of neighboring hotels. put that savings into experiences & activities during our trip

Great service and great view!

Nice hotel in great area. Beach is fantastic and good snorkeling is a 100 yard walk. Walls between rooms are a little thin so a noisy neighbor can ruin sleep. Disappointed in my “partial ocean view“ room. Could only get a small glimpse of ocean by standing in a corner of the room. This photo is from that corner and if you look closely you can see a small spot of blue.

Good service but badly maintained property
Very nice and friendly service, but old hotel that hasn't been kept up. Beautiful beach but often too rough for swimming. Rooms were worn and our bathroom ceiling above the mirror was an open hole that nobody bothered to close (Room 127). Even the beach chairs are ancient and the pool is small. Food was ghastly--do not eat at the hotel restaurant! If management does not want to put any money into renovation and maintenance, they should charge far less.
