Beware of valet parking
The hotel was good. The valet was terrible. Took over an hour for our car to be brought around. Other than that good location and room.

Meh
Was pretty unimpressed with our stay overall. Got to the room and the bathroom was dirty from the last occupants. Had paid for a better room and it was just so average. The bathroom also needed a renovation, it was so old and worn down. The elevator was broken for most of our stay too.

Great location
Used valet parking, check in went smooth, room was clean, great location situated near capital arena and downtown Chinatown, lots to do especially if you like the night life with bars and clubs, short walk about a mile or two from great museum and monuments

Double beds!?
The room was very nice. The beds were awful. There were three of us in the room. My husband, my college-aged son and me. I had requested a room that would accommodate us all. The beds were doubles and not queens. A little too small for adults. So my husband and I got very little sleep. This is the second DC hotel we’ve stayed in with double beds. Is that a DC thing? We were on the first level which was actually below ground. Not terrible, just disappointing. Anyone staying here might want to request an upper floor.

edgy decor
it is a historic building and that is one of the reasons that you choose it, so the air in the room can be a bit stuffy

anna sleep on a pullout for a ten dollar rebate ?
Were told at check in the room type was oversold. Offered me a suite upgrade with pull out couch versus the two doubles I booked. Terrible terrible sleep on pull out. They offered a measly ten dollar rebate off the rate. I intend to take this up with the manager. Not the way to treat gold member of hotels.com. Truly disappointed. And room smelled mouldy and wax damp.

One standout staff member at front desk named Angela or Andrea. Breakfast order incorrect twice. Surly bartender however the manager did gladly comp those drinks. Hallway always had glasses or food bags outside doors. Great location though and beds are comfy! Service was mediocre at best and folks in bar could care less about service. Shame as I like Kimpton brand but this one has a long way to go! Get some more outlets in rooms have to take turns charging!

Service means the most to me
Service means the most to me. The staff did not want to be there. They did not explain where the morning coffee would be, and once I saw the sign of coffee hours, he coffee was over 20 minutes late being available. The hotel charges a resort fee, but lacks resort features - not even a place to sit outside, nor good views. the hotel was a disappointment. the location was good, decor was fine and the rooms were quite clean

Excellent!
We had an amazing experience. The only two small things were that we had a long walk to our room because the door near our room was an exit only. The other thing was that valet parking is $52 a night, but there were also $13 in taxes and fees that I was unaware of, which really makes it $65 a night. Other than that, great service and we were very pleased with our room.
