Convenient, comfortable and casual
Close to underground station and very convenient to both conference and tourist locations. Decent room and comfortable despite heat: fan was acceptable. Interesting locale and vibrant. Excellent vale although internet was slow at peak periods.

Will be back !
Just got back from Berlin ( Very impressive city, I''ll be back ) Stayed in the Ambassador for a thoroughly enjoyable week. Reception staff friendly and helpful , as where the housekeeping team. Hot water and water pressure always there on demand, ( One of my pet gripes on my travels is having to juggle with the shower until it stops freezing or scalding) I don't see anybody mention the quality of the beds in review. Fine big bed , and the best sleep I've had for years , and my spine is extremely grateful for that. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for it's standards and location. There are references to poor wi-fi on here, but I found the signal strength to be problematic in several places in the vicinity of the hotel !

Never again.
Internet connection was essentially non existent; for someone traveling on business, that is unacceptable. Staff response to complaints was: "We know. We are working on it." They've been 'working on it' for months (last stayed here in September. Same issue.) Combine that with a complete lack of air conditioning during a heat wave which necessitated keeping the windows open in an effort to cool the room and housekeeping who kept closing the window and opening the drapes during the day thereby adding to the heat in the room . . . uncomfortable doesn't come close to describing it. Icing on the cake: surly staff members; construction and noise on the street outside making it difficult to sleep. Net conclusion: Never again.

Great location, friendly staff and big rooms
Checking in was quick and simple. The receptionists were very friendly. There is a bar next to the reception desk open until midnight and a vending machine next to the lifts. If you do not have tea and coffee making facilities in your room, there is also a vending machine for hot drinks there too. The tourist information stands are very well stocked, and all of the leaflets are up to date. It is the most comprehensive stand I have seen in a Berlin hotel and they also have some fabulous wallet sized tourist information cards and even a little map. Finally, there are two good sized lifts up to your room. I stayed in room 406, which is a Standard Double Room. This did not have a mini-bar or tea and coffee making facilities. I think the more expensive rooms do. It is a good-sized room. You wouldn’t feel claustrophobic here. The décor was a little tired looking, but very clean. There are two chairs, a desk, 55cm TV with remote, TV guide, bench/suitcase ledge, double wardrobe and a very modern bathroom and toilet. The Windows fill a whole side of the room and look out over the back of the adjacent buildings. I stayed for ten days and housekeeping came every day. The room was spotless, and I think the bed linen was changed daily. The bed came with two single quilts and two pillows, a big one and a little one. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were just right. I’m a not a heavy sleeper and I found it very quiet, with very little noise from the lift or other residents.

Lovely Hotel
A fantastic all round hotel that prides itself on its cleanliness. For any balmy summer evenings it has an outside decking area to enjoy a relaxing drink. I love the hotel for many reasons one coming to mind is the quality of the mattresses in the room, they are nice and firm allowing a peaceful nights sleep. The hotel is virtually in the centre and the local ubahn is within 50 metres walking distance. The highlight to finish the holiday is how convenient it is to get to Tegel airport. 40 yards away you can get the 100 number bus for a few stops to Zoo Gardens then change there for the bus to Tegal Airport. Whole journey from hotel takes an average of 35 minutes all for a few euros.

Pictures are misleading, this place is nasty
This place was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I don't know when those pictures on hotels.com were taken, but my room looked like it hadn't been updated or cleaned since the 70s. - Staff was not friendly and not helpful - Room was GROSS - There was carpet going up the wall about half of a foot, half of it was peeling off the wall leaving this gross yellow stain from the glue behind it. - Room was not vacuumed prior to my stay - The beds were horribly uncomfortable - Beds didn't even come with sheets -- just a cheap comforter - You get one pillow for each twin bed -- But it's not a normal sized pillow, its a half pillow. - Pillow cases didn't even fit pillows, so pillow cases are tied up in a loose knot at the end, usually still wet from wash (and not neatly). - Bed smelled like cheap mens cologne. - There were dead bugs all over the window sill - The outlets in the bathroom don't work - Really gross side table next to the bed that was poorly glued to the wall, all kinds of stains, super gross to have to put my head next to every night - Everything was sticky. Even the walls. - Some lights didn't even have lamp shades - Location sucked -- This I blame on hotels.com -- I asked for a hotel in Mitte, and this was most definitely not in Mitte. I should have double checked, but I trusted hotels.com. Lesson learned. I have pictures of these things, but hotels.com won't load them. I will never stay here again.

big hotel, great location, great breakfast
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I had a large room with a big bathroom. It was clean and well maintained during my stay. the main selling point for this hotel is its location and the breakfast served. the hotel is about a five minute walk to a u-bahn station and a twenty minute walk from a major transportation hub. I walked from the zoo garden station to the hotel. this is the center of old west berlin. the selection at the breakfast buffet was large with many options. the only downside is that is the same selection everyday. the hall ways of the hotel could use some updating. the staff was very nice and pleasant.
