Action packed
Lots of sights in Luxor. There is a lot of history. It was great overall. Great location, not too far from the sights. Definitely a haven in hectic Luxor. I will say that the hotel's dessert options were quite limited. The breakfast place is noisy because of the structure of building, but if you sit outside the building next to the Nile, it is amazing. The Thai restaurant was great too. Rooms were comfortable, but they could have been larger for what we experienced elsewhere in Egypt.

The Steigenberger Nile Palace is a beautiful hotel, but the rooms seemed like they hadn't been updated since 1989. I wish the rooms had softer mattresses and it was very difficult for us to charge our various phones and devices in the limited outlets in the room. There was no built in USB charging ability, the Cable TV did not work, as I said, the beds were very hard, and the bathroom had no wash cloths. Very odd. On the bright side, the hotel itself is very picturesque, the restaurant was good and the breakfast was very nice.

Our Valentine's Day evening meal was ruined. It was rushed by wait staff who took plates before we had finished a course. Insteàd of offering a dessert, one waiter tried to sell a felucca ride. The floor manager was indifferent to us and failed to supervise the staff until this incident. Then it was a struggle to get anywhere towards a reasonable settlement. I think we were considered troublesome. Otherwise good, but would not go again. Upselling in this manner is wholly unacceptable.
