Great bed and amenities. Also great location and very knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend!

Poor
DIRTY ROOM
Booked a Junior Suite for my boss and his room was not clean! And he arrived after 9pm so no excuse! Had to have a room change. WILL not book this hotel

Good
Still-young hotel showing its age
For a hotel that's just 15 years old, the Madison is showing its age. Good: The room we had was well-appointed, clean and the bed and sheets were especially comfortable and nice. Bathroom was nice as well, also clean. The Meh: We had a room with a nice view but that was also near the elevator, so we heard a lot of what was going on outside our door. Not ideal. The Bad: Everything that was not the room. Hallway rugs are stained. The lobby furniture looks good in pictures, but is stained and threadbare in reality. All of it has been there since the hotel opened in 2002. Coffee spot downstairs was out of coffee and never refilled. Guests were told to go across the street to coffee shop if they wanted coffee. It was 38 degrees outside. Employees were cordial but uniforms were messy. Hotel bar and restaurant were closed "for renovations." Right. Overall not what you would expect for the premium price you pay. My impression was one of a once-great hotel that had since fallen on hard times.

Good
fine but too expensive for the commodity.
Hotel is Ok, but when comparing to the price you are paying and being rated a four-star hotel, sorry but am not seeing this. Looks like a 2 or 2.5 star hotel.

Exceptional
It's worth the price.
My family of four enjoyed our stay at this very stylish hotel in the heart of downtown Memphis. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. I opted to self park as there was a public garage on the next block, saving quite a bit versus the hotel's valet service. This hotel is a short walk from many bars and restaurants. Easily catch the bus or trolley to other downtown attractions.
