Booked handicap room but put in reg room bad locat
This was a couples weekend away. I have found that booking through Hotels.com we don't always get the best of rooms. This is an OLD motel that has been somewhat upgraded. The staff was awesome and quite helpful. We were not put in an accessable room that we paid extra for so as both of us are handicapped by recent knee surgeries it wasn't a pleasant stay because of the bathroom. Standard toilets are too low for us and getting in and out of the tub was difficult to say the least because there was only one bar to hold on to and that was on the wall by the showerhead. They offered to move us but since we were already unpacked before we used the bathroom it would have been more difficult to repack, carry cases to the vehicles, unload again and unpack so we opted to stay in the room they gave us that was all the way in the back of the property right next to the busy highway so sleeping was interrupted several times. The property wasn't full by any means so not sure way we were place in the back unless it was because of how we booked. The floors are fake hardwood so since the property had treated the walkways and parking lot with salt due to the impending storm we carried that into the room. There was no doormat there so I used the bathmat at the front door to wipe out feet. Which my small dog proceded to lick the chemically treated salt and got quite sick from it. After that we would take our shoes off at the door and I would cover them and wipe the floor.

emergency stay
I could not use my charger in either USB port in the room...therefore neither of our phones could charge...disappointing. Plus we were at the end near where the maid service was...very noisy and it seemed to be are area where other people hung out too...loud loud people....people screaming....just not a good area to be in. Other than that, the room was nice. We needed to go to a hotel because the water in our rental house went out. It was very nice that the gentleman at the desk allowed us to check in early as my husband is sick with the flu....NOT covid....and he just needed to be able to rest and get to the bathroom when necessary. Glad there was a room available for us.
