Beautiful impressive historic building
This was our second hotel stay in Edinburgh and it blew the first hotel away by far. Beautiful room in a historical building what else could you want. Breakfast in bed was delicious as was the Scotsman burger we had from room service. We did have some minor maintenance that needs attention and we made the front desk aware but nothing that took away from our stay.

When I booked and saw this hotel the rooms looked beautiful and traditional in rich colours. We arrived and found all the rooms had been modernised in GREY. It made the room look cold and very uninviting, we also looked out onto a brick wall. I would not stay there again.

The Hotel is beautiful and the staff are excellent, but the vents in the bathroom ceilings are very dirty, cob webs on ceiling and carpets are not very clean. Garbage in hallway and dirty trays left out for a day at a time. Dining food was ok but staff was not very alert.
