Not as advertised but still good
Was a nice hotel with friendly staff but was immediately confronted with additional parking costs which were not made clear when booking, the details of the room we very ambiguous and they did not provide enough bedding when the room was clearly booked for 3. Other small notes include a lack of locks on toilet and a shower which leaked onto the floor.

Happy, would use again
Lovely clean hotel, nice staff, good breakfast with plenty of choice, well sized room, my only gripe is the parking, £13.50 for 1 night, i found that a bit excessive, also not a mention about till we got there

Check in was less than ideal. One of the lifts was broken so queues to get to bedrooms with children and luggage. Room wasn’t setup for 4 people so had to wait for housekeeping. Then when finally attempted to leave the room to visit the town the in room safe turned out to be broken. All in all, wasted 90 minutes in total while all this was sorted. There was also a foul smell coming from the bathroom sink and the bedroom carpet didn’t look like it had been given a Hoover/clean in a long while! Hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant however and the lobby, restaurant and pool areas are excellent. Location is also perfect. Hotel parking charges are a little excessive.

great hotel, would highly recommend
Brilliant hotel, staff really friendly, room spacious and great place for kids with playroom and pool, the only thing which could be improved is the pool - its quite small for the size of the hotel and always crowded even though hotel staff do monitor how many people are let in at one time, think it could also do with a pool refurb. The breakfast is amazing, really recommend this hotel, and its in a good location just outside of the town centre (about a 5-10 minute walk).

Great stay. Had a great time.
A lovely hotel. There was an issue with our heating but this was quickly resolved and we were moved rooms. Would definitely stay again.

Disappointed to say the least.
It was Valentines Day and they had a guitarist/vocalist playing in the bar when we checked in - made the whole process difficult and ill thought through. The chap checking us in still insisted to try to follow 'his' checkin process, despite the fact that we were laiden with bags, had just done a long car journey and had two young kids with us. He also tried to charge me for the room, despite the fact that I had pre-paid when I made my booking We paid for parking, however this wasn't applied to our room causing us issues when we left. We paid for breakfast which also wasn't added to our room and caused us issues on checkout. The room was in need of TLC, the tissue box was empty, the sink in the bathroom smelt very unpleasant and the facilities for the pool were poor - no real system for admitting people to the pool, limited changing facilities and a queue of around half an hour to be able to use it. I have to say I've stayed at Novotel hotels before without issue but we just felt like an after thought. Positives were that the breakfast was quite good and the location is great. We also stumbled across an Italian and an Indian restaurant in close proximity to the hotel that were exceptional.

Half term stay
Easy parking, fab breakfast and some lovely people. Lady on desk was very stressed. She reprimanded colleague, used negative language and made use of the pool an inconvenience. Waiting list managed abruptly. No duvets for children 'ran out as it's half term' and sofa bed not fit to be a bed. Has the makings of a great stay. Lady in the morning a complete contrast. Lovely.
