The coastal town of Agva is found 60 miles northeast of Istanbul on the banks of the Black Sea. The area’s name translates as “between two rivers”, and both the Goksu and Tesilcay rivers meet the sea on either side of the town. Here, you can soak up the sun on the beach, go fishing in both fresh and salt water, or take a boat trip along the Goksu.
In neighboring Sile, a short drive west, history buffs can pay their respects at the tomb of Kum Baba, a prominent Muslim saint, or check out the 150-year-old Sile Feneri lighthouse.
