Lovely and convenient old-style European hotel.
The front desk service was excellent. Very helpful and responsive to our needs. Also informative about the sightseeing options available. The air conditioning in our room struggled a little in the heatwave, but did help a lot - certainly better than much European AC. The breakfast buffet was first rate. We also ate in the restaurant. While the selection was not huge, quality was good and the service friendly and fast. Everyone seemed to speak excellent English. The location was also excellent for walking to do sightseeing our go to musical events (we went to the Opera and the Musikverein - both a one subway stop journey or a reasonable walk. We will certainly stay here again when we are next lucky enough to visit Vienna.

Great location, nice hotel
The location is great. There is a tramway right around the corner that goes directly to the center of the city. It’s also within easy walking distance of everything. The front desk staff was very helpful. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. The room was very nice, clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. The only problem was that it had a very strong “new carpet” smell. The front desk offered to move us to a different room, but one room that was available was not renovated and the other was smaller, so we chose to stay. (The older rooms are definitely in need of renovation. They are clean but old-fashioned and very tired-looking.) We opened the windows a crack and that helped a lot with the smell. Like many hotels in Europe, a “double bed” is not actually a double bed, it is two single beds pushed together, with two single comforters. As a couple, we hate that - you fall into the crack, and the comforters come off at night. But again, this is a common problem in Europe. And at least the beds were comfortable. The hotel offers several different styles of pillow. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. There is one waiter, an older guy, who was disagreeable in some way every day (3 times at breakfast and once at lunch in the restaurant), and he affirmatively kicks you out at 10:30. (Usually, when a hotel says their breakfast runs until 1030, they mean that they stop serving at 1030. In this case, you can’t even stay and finish your food after 1030.)

A vacation in May 2019
Every thing was excellent. There was window shutters for complete black out. Beds were comfortable. There was no coffee maker; however you can ask for electric kettle with instant coffee and tea. You can ask for bath robes and non slip bath mat. Internet was good inside the rooms. The continental breakfast was good and the dining room was nice. Although the hotel was old but the bathrooms and the furniture were modern and well maintained. There was enough closet space and plenty of electric outlets. The location was excellent near a metro station and a tram line. There were 3 exists from the metro station. One of the exists was closer to the hotel. Also it was not far from the main train station with trains to Europe. Uber to the airport was cheap. Taxi to the airport costs around 42 to 50 euros. This hotel is excellent except in summer. They don't have air conditioning. I went in May and at times I needed to open the window. The price per night was on the high side as compared to another hotel of comparable quality in an area near the prater which was close to the metro too but I booked it for less than half the price.

Nice hotel
Lovely hotel. Lovely staff very helpful. Breakfast is excellent. Local area is so so. It you are 10 min from opera house and very downtown of Vienna. Rooms do not have water or coffee tea machine. Furniture is old fashioned but clean.
