8/10 Very good

We requested a quiet room and got Loud music noise from bar on cliff above the hotel. Great views. No milk for the tea. No free water. Fantastic roof bar. Very Poor breakfast, go down to the Comfeitarie Portilho cafe for much better quality. Very clean and good rooms.

Hotel Neya Porto
The hotels website looks great, however, the rooms were starting to get a bit tired with loose bathroom fittings and we had to ask for the air con to be fixed on 2 occasions. Service was ok but did not match the hotel high prices, so sadly it fell a bit below our expectations. Lovely building, nice rooms, lobby, breakfasts and location.

Wonderful experience at Neya
My partner and I visited Porto with his father and stayed in one of the suites. We had a 3 day visit and Neya staff delighted us with their friendliness and service, the property a modern twist on a historical convent. The location is about a 10 minute walk from the city center and bridges and the hotel sits on the river. My partner used to row on the Douro and we had a wonderful room with huge 2-celiling windows overlooking the Douro. The room was clean, comfortable and our bathroom huge. We loved the chapel and outdoor area on the 3rd floor, and the rooftop bar that has glass floors that peer down to the lobby. We would absolutely stay again.

8/10 Very good

Lovely stay. Location was perfect as it was away from the main city but close enough to walk in to attractions, bars and restaurants (15mins to Riberia square). Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Bathrooms need updating. The shower pressure and temperature are great. But the shower doors don’t open very well. A fan in the bathroom would be good to help with the damp smell.

Great hotel, brand new. Lovely roof top bar, comfortable rooms. Could do with a small swimming pool for hotter months but all in all brilliant stay.

Great hotel but not perfect
I wish I could give this place 5 stars because it's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location, but I just can't. Things started poorly when we arrived and they couldn't find our booking, apparently a miscommunication between the hotels.com system and their own. They upgraded us to a duplex room (two-storeys) but I had paid to make sure we had a room with a balcony and this room was on the first floor with no balcony. They sent us a dessert and bottle of port to make up for it, so the effort to try and rectify the situation was greatly appreciated, but it just wasn't the room we were hoping for. The worst experience we had was with the hotel bikes. Firstly, there are only two for the entire hotel, which is just ridiculous, but they were always available, and now I know why. Probably the worst bikes I've ever ridden. Most of the gears don't work and the second time we used them, I went to push up a hill and the chain completely snapped off. The chain was extremely rusted and once a bit of pressure was applied to it, it gave way and I forced to ride it back like a scooter. At the price point of this hotel, if they want to be providing bikes, they need to be of much better quality, go and buy some new ones. Other than this, the room was very comfortable (although the shower was leaking) and the breakfast is exceptionably good. I'd considering giving them a second chance if I ever returned.

2/10 Poor

Driving to the property with my car was the most stressful event of the whole trip. There is no driveway, we had to climb on the curb and cross the tram line to park on the curb. There was no doorman or attendant. Strange hotel, there was no shampoo, lotion on kleenex in the room, yet beautiful location.
