Excellent Location - Facing the Bay and Downtown
The location is excellent in terms of distance from the Coronado Ferry Landing - just a short walk away! There are a couple of restaurants near the Landing, too, if you don't want to dine on site. The pool faces the Coronado Bridge and downtown San Diego, so you'll see maritime vessels coming and going to/from the bay. (If you're looking for a relaxing view, consider lodging on the other side of the island, such as the Hotel Del.) You’ll see military helicopters often as well, due to the proximity to the base. The room itself was comfortable and spacious. A small foldout couch/bed made it possible to sleep our group of 5 without issue or obstructing walking areas. The patio was large and had a fantastic view of pool and Coronado Bridge. We took advantage of the included access to 2 bikes for 2 hours and cruised the island, which I recommend! It's a flat loop, so it's not too strenuous.

Need to decompress?
I had a horrible week and needed to decompress....This is the place to do it, I am a diabetic and I was using 30% less insulin because I was so relaxed. There is lots to do on the island and a ferry to downtown for 7.00. It was so relaxing I brought my daughter and grandson back the next weekend. Don't forget the people, Everybody I spoke with were genuinely nice:) And I have to say the Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado on sourdough next to the pool was bomb....

First time a charm, second time not so much
This was our second trip to the Marriott Coronado, the first time (November 2021) was perfect, healthy beautiful native plants and clear pools of water and ponds. Unfortunately, this trip all the ponds seemed to be polluted somehow, green algae bottoms, and it looked like some type of bubbles and scum was all over the top of the water. Our balcony overlooked one such pond. Needless to say, we didn't use our balcony because of that view. None of the staff mentioned that they had a problem with the water features on the property. The rooms are a little expensive, but we didn't mind because of the pristine condition of the hotels grounds in November, due to us not being able to fully enjoy our patio this trip however, I feel the rooms were overpriced.
