    Not really worth it
I tried to send two emails to the lodge before posting this review but they have bounced back. Just can't recommend the lodge. If we do this trip again, we will stay somewhere else then hike around the beautiful redwoods. Took hours to warm up the room enough to even take our coats off (December.) Beds aren't great. Service was so ridiculously slow at breakfast and half the food was cold. Restaurant manager was sweet and apologetic though. There is nothing wrong with "glamping" but this experience is overpriced for what it is in my opinion. Keep in mind, there is no wi-fi, no tv, no kitchenette (at least not on our 2 bed cottage) which is supposed to be half the fun, but to be so cold on top of it really just made the whole thing feel way overpriced. We ate at Big Sur River Inn down the road and the food and service was great. The area around the lodge is beautiful but there weren't giant redwoods right outside our door or anything, you still have to go hiking to see them, and they are really beautiful! Just not the night in the redwoods we envisioned when we booked it.
