Wolcott Hotel

Very small room which is OK it’s New York City. There were windows but it faced a dark inner view. Room is a very old bathroom really could use some new tile and caulk. The worst thing was I called Monday night when Delta canceled my flight due to inclement weather in New York City and I was told by a gentleman who answered the phone they would take care of it if I gave them my flight number which I did. Shame on me for not getting his name because when I checked out two days after I finally got to New York they charged me for both days. Very disappointing and the woman at the counter said well he was wrong he should’ve never said that. I will not stay there again ever.

Waited more than 15 minutes to check in. Gross soap residue on bathroom toiletries shelf, would have been easy to clean if anyone had bothered. No tissues in room. Tiny room air conditioner wasn't able to get the room temperature below 75, even at night. WiFi is insecure (no encryption). "Free breakfast" is just muffins and coffee, not much of a breakfast. Fitness center has old, run-down equipment and the staff can't even be bothered to set the clock properly. Elevators are painfully slow and the stairways are locked at the bottom so you can't avoid the elevators by taking the stairs to your room. When I submitted a complaint through hotels.com about the slow check-in and room condition, the hotel posted a response claiming that they had addressed my complaints when they hadn't even spoken to me. When I responded to that with more details about my complaints, the general manager blew me off and called me a liar.

Hotel was OK for the money. A.C. definitely was not up to par. Kept me from sweltering but not much more.

Nice place to stay, easy access to 34th st Subway. Staff was very helpful with food recommendations and directions. They upgraded us to a "Suite" (we needed two beds) room was comfy and relatively quiet for NYC. Hotels is older so hallways and elevators are more "Narrow", but great place, great staff. Highly recommend-
