Very charming hotel in the heart of Downtown SA!
The Gunter Hotel is beautiful, safe, has a GREAT location, and the staff was extremely friendly! My only negative comment would be about the cleanliness of the bathroom tile which needed a good scrubbing and the bath fixtures could use a good vinegar soak to remove the hard water deposits.

Just an ok rusty in need to be polish hotel
Great location right downtown and in front of the majestic and great restaurants. Close to everything. Comfy bedding, clean , the access to the “club” level is just an access to get pop sodas and some oranges and apples ( not very special at all . The pool was ok and the gym was ok too . Air conditioning did not work at all all night making it really hot to be , specially in summers in Texas . The hotel needs a major touch up and updates as being such a great building and noticeable very old . This could be a super great hotel if they would really update it all. As a world traveler, I found it an ok hotel based on the location , the antique of the building but not for anything else than stay one night . I wish my comment will help management to improve and to rescue this old rusty jewel and polish it up
