Terrible - almost went home early.
Extremely disappointing stay and spoiled the mini break. Waited 25 minutes to check in. Parking is charged at £12 per day with very little chance of actually finding a space in the small car park. Despite checking for potential covid restrictions on the hotel website and the booking site it appeared to be business as usual. However the outside terrace area overlooking seafront is closed, pool facilities are closed, the bar is closed, and there limited breakfast availability and limited menu. Not enough staff who were unfortunately having to do their best dealing with a lot of unhappy guests - long queues for everything. On the hottest day of the year there was no aircon working in my room. Reception kindly offered another room but nothing available until the the next day and even then wasn't able to get access it until 5pm. Spent several hours awake on first night thanks to people partying in the room above me - there is very little sound proofing. Night reception helpfully responded to my requests twice to ask guests to be considerate which they ignored. My mother experienced the same on another floor. Apart from reception and eating areas, the hotel and surrounding areas are tired , shabby and dirty - the benches out the front were dilapidated and some not usable. Why couldn't the owners have used the time during lockdown to spruce things up? All of this for 4* prices - £200 per night!!!!

No Advance Warning!
Pre-Covid we've enjoyed staying at this hotel but Post-Covid was a different matter. On the day of arrival (i.e., no advance warning) we were handed a notification telling us that no dining would be offered by the bistro as per usual. but instead we could have a plated breakfast and a limited dinner menu cooked by the hotel. We were also told that the outside terrace was closed and there was no bar. You don't expect to book in at the Highcliff and drink at the Hop Inn! 'Superior' room had a number of less-than-superior issues. We expressed our disappointment with our stay and reception were sympathetic.

Not happy with a health and safety issue which the hotel did not deal with even though it was reported 3 times at least.

Great experience, nice sea view room

Great location.
Hotel itself was good - friendly reception staff and a great location for visiting the BIC as we did on our trip to Bournemouth. Service charges for buying drinks is a bit off at 10%, especially as they don't even deliver them to your table! Parking is at a fee, and not free, at £12 per night. Room was clean, very comfy bedding - we will go back if ever seeing more gigs there.

Lovely stay -
Kept waiting at checkIn by 3 receptionists! Hash browns in unearned dish were cold - otherwise lovely stay

A nice getaway for a couple
Fabulous view and location. Perfect for a walk to town and the beach. Great service to the room as we had difficulty with the TV. We expected a fridge in the room but it didn’t keep our things cool :-( The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest and not the high standard we expected of Marriott.
