Hotel ruined by the people who run it
Entering the hotel you'd think you're in for a nice stay. Unfortunately this doesn't continue past the first few steps. Possibly the worst customer service from the people at reception. They provide no help whatsoever, They completely ignore you when you enter and leave the hotel and for what ever reason they control the air conditioners in the rooms from their computer and refuse to adjust it even after you ask them several times. It was a constant 24 degrees celcius in our room during Summer and during the night it was hotter in our room than not only the hallway outside and lobby area (which funnily enough was always lovely and cool) but also the temperature outside the hotel. The TV had reception quality from the 80s, the breakfast was terrible, a huge selection of food that you wouldn't want to eat (the bacon smelt like feet). The wifi was awful, our room key failed to work several times (we had to change it after the first day). The bathroom floor was constantly wet because theres no proper shower curtain which then meant the rest of the floors were wet because theres no carpet. There was some sort've construction going on near our room every single morning with hammering and power tools. On the plus side there's a train station close by however the last train stops at about 11pm on this line. The best part is they call themselves a 4 star hotel which means you pay almost the highest city tax when in fact they should really be 2 stars max.

Nice hotel in an area just outside of the attractions of Rome. Bus stops and metro are very close to the hotel for a quick ride to most attractions or a good 30 minute walk to the Borghese and Spanish Steps. Large breakfast with good variety. Local area is nice, but not many options for food or entertainment.

Disheartening but so much potential.
First off, the staff were superb, very polite and helpful. The buffet breakfast was ample and varied which was nice too. Unfortunately, what was probably once a beautiful hotel with having silk lined walls, marble floors and dark wood panneling is now in dire need of maintenance! First night we arrived early hours (1am) and was shocked to find noisy aircon which even the control panel had missing buttons. A balcony with flaking paint and a showerhead which wouldn't stay in the holder. Changed rooms without an issue the next day...only this room, albeit bigger but without a balcony, had a mildew ridden bath rim and damp in the bathroom. It's such a shame that after walking into a glorious reception area that you have rooms in such disrepair and in serious need of maintenance. I have stayed in many hotels and have never seen a '4 star' hotel in this condition. I'd be difficult to award 2 stars. Beautiful potential but let down by basic upkeep of the rooms/building. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless the rooms were overhauled and brought back to their former glory.

Enjoyed it
Helpful, friendly, good breakfast, location near train station, good, simple little restaurant just around the corner. Also good fish restaurant close by. Recommend fish platter for two (32 euros). Hotel value for money if booked in advance.
