The room was mediocre and the restroom was especially disappointing with a broken tub sealed with tape. The lights in the restroom did not work the first night. I would suggest staying somewhere else if you are spending the amount I spent at Uncle Billy’s.

Great location in the heart of the Kona resort area. The property is very old and needs much attention.

I've stayed here before and it was an acceptable budget hotel in a great location - but it's gone way downhill. Maybe because of Covid? Here are some of the problems this time: 1. Curtains wouldn't close all the way, had to tape shut myself. 2. TV remote missing, had to request one. 3. Blood stains on bedsheet (not my blood). 4. Lamp bulb burned out, had to request replacement. 5. Dead cockroach found on floor after returning to room at end of the day. 6. Travel partner's door lock didn't work with card keys so he had to be moved to a different room that had problems with hot water for the shower. 7. When asked, manager said there were no second floor rooms available but a group moved into the one right above me the next day. Maybe things will improve once tourists start coming back in greater numbers but I won't ever stay here again.

The tv had no signal during my stay, and the refrigerator had a noisy motor which woke me several times until I just plugged it.

For what I paid for the rooms, it was a big disappointment. The rooms are very ran down uncomfortable, and not worth the money you pay for it. My room had a dirty towel hanging from the shower and a dirty floor mat on the floor. When they did clean my room they did not really put the towels away nor did they leave coffee for me the next day. I would not suggest anyone stay there and I would never stay there again. We were there for two nights and they shut my key off after the first night, and I had to get it re-keyed again. My final words are do not stay there.

Liked the family owned business model. Staff were all very friendly & accommodating. Good location, although somewhat busy! The room was clean, but was truly showing it’s age. The cement on the balcony was cracked & balcony doors & screens were difficult to open/close. The a/c fan was very loud.
