    Hampton Inn Joplin Aug 8th

    This was our first trip of the covid era. Our Hampton Inn stay was enjoyable. Check-in was quick and easy. Breakfast was standard fare. Nothing remarkable. Check out went smoothly. One surprise, not unexpected, there was no room servicing during stay. Front desk said we had to request it. We were not informed of this requirement.

    Restaurants

    It was a very nice place. It was close to alot of restaurants eazy walking distance. I hate the bathroon doors very Loud and hard to open. It would be nice to have breakfast stay open till 10:00 on weekends. Went down about 5 after 9 and it was all shut down. But you can get coffee most of the time. The pellows are not great but the bed was okay. Pool was open its a small outside pool but looked okay we never had time to get in it.

    Very Strange Room Layout

    Horrible barn-style bathroom door, very hard to open and close. Strange tiny closet covered by drapes instead of a door. Eggs, sausage and waffles for breakfast were good.

    Could have been better.

    Shower did not work right at all and I got trapped in the bathroom 3 times and could not get out. The slider door is a bad idea. No venting in bathroom. We always try to stay at Hampton Inns, this is the first time we were not very pleased. The young man that checked us in was exceptional and a real plus and needs recognition for a great job.

    Staff was unattentive, didn’t really seem to care. The new rooms are just OK with a completely different design. I’m not sure I like it. I think it cheapened the hotel. The bed though was fantastic. Breakfast: they had no milk of any kind. Really you could have bought some milk so your customers are satisfied. Otherwise the employee working the breakfast has to tell people No or sorry we are out. That could have been fixed by simply purchasing milk somewhere. Also no decaffinated coffee. I guess everyone at a Hampton Inn only drinks regular. These are management issues.
