Superb location though a bit ordinary
Great location. Clean. Hotel common areas as well as room size, design, decor were all rather ordinary for the price. Front desk staff were helpful but a bit stern. Service staff, bellhop were exceptionally friendly and efficient. Enjoyed Dragonfish, the restaurant. The lobby planters were apparently awaiting replanting though there was no sign indicating this so we were greeting by this huge container of dirt upon entry and departure. A sign indicating "Beautiful plants coming soon" or something would have been smart.

Great place in Seattle - lose the throw pillows
The Paramount Hotel worked out great for us to use as a home base while we explored Seattle. It was within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the Light Rail (Link - Westlake station). The only problem we had was their is a plethora of pillows on the bed, and no place to put them...so the throw pillows just get 'thrown' on the floor. I'm sure that's what happens for 90% of the people that stay there, and I would wager a bet that the cleaning staff just picks them up and places them on the freshly washed pillowcases that you put your head on. Gross...We ended up using our sleep sacks even though everything seemed clean, but there was no way I could lay down on those pillows after thinking about people visiting the gum wall, and everything else at the Pike Place Market (think fish on ice, food, urine, etc) and then those pillows laying on the floor...

The Paramount is simply the best.
The Paramount is a top pick for us. The location is excellent, the rooms are well-appointed, but it is the service that sets the Paramount apart. The staff are always looking for ways to serve you better.
