We arrived at 2.30pm and tried to check in but a stone-faced front desk staff told us to "come back later". When we got our room, we felt that there was a smell of smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. We rang the front desk and the same guy came up to check and gave us his personal opinion that he did not detect anything odd. Nice way to acknowledge guests' feedback! We insisted on a change of room and the next one we got was slightly better, but it got stuffy at night and the aircon dial was essentially the control of the heating (it was early January). Glad it was just a one-night stay! Despite the central location and proximity to various departmental stores, we won't be back as there are other better hotels in the vicinity.

Nice hotel in a nice location.
Very nice hotel that was clean and comfortable. Booked a triple room and the third bed was a mattress laid over a sofa that had a tendency to tip over. Room looks slightly dated but was clean and comfortable - No complains. The hotel staff were very helpful and kept the rooms clean. The hotel is not directly accessible from the underground mall (or it was not obvious) so good luck if it rained. Lifts going from the underground level to ground level are locked in the morning so this is something to consider if you need to catch an early morning flight with lots of luggage.

It was in a good location, esp if you are travelling to Kyoto and around Osaka. It’s very clean and value for money. There are a lot of dining options around.
