Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel Accommodation & Rooms

The hotel is shabby in parts & would benefit from a refurb. Outside the bedroom window there were many cigarette buts. The staff were great: very friendly, sociable, helpful.

The ability for us to just unwind was the best thing about our stay at the Fitz, oh but then there was the food and the old castle atmosphere and the grounds and the location that was ideal for day trips and the friendly staff ... and did I mention the food

Booked thru Hotels.com 2 King beds. Room we received were 2 double-queen beds. They assured us the beds were kings. Im from Dublin, wasn't born yesterday. Beds were double which is fine, just dont sell a product you clearly don't have. On the bright side we had an amazing view of a wall, literally!!! Room was dated. Breakfast was good though!

room clean was dissappointed. Water not changed and yes n coffee not topped up.

Had a great stay at the Fitzpatrick Castle - we had a family room (2 double beds + cot) and the room size was excellent! All the staff we encountered (from maintenance to reception) were really helpful and pleasant. We didn't have breakfast, but did have evening meals on 2 occasions which were adequate (not great) - so advise eating out if you want a decent meal! Note also the hotel is high up on a steep hill, so our plan of walking back and forwards to the Dart station with the (young) kids next materialised! Overall very pleased with the stay and would recommend.
