Accurate reviews, you get what you pay for
The reviews are accurate: check-in line (any time you need something at front desk really) is long, rooms are cleaned only sporadically, and the pool and outdoor areas are largely reserved for bar patrons after 3pm. NOTE: Contintental Breakfast has also been discontinued! Coffee is still available. But you get what you pay for. People are generally friendly and try to be helpful. Guests are generally considerate. If you stay in a bunk room, be sure to bring a sleeping mask and ear plugs!

Great hostel
Great hostel close to mid beach. I stayed in a single room which is great if you want privacy but st st is meet new people. Very nice pool and sunbeds. Free coffee in ethe reception. No breakfast but many cafés close.

Going down hill
Used to be my favourite hostel in Miami. My request ahead of arrival wasn't actioned. They have taken away free breakfast. Had an issue that meant I had to stay in another hotel for one of the nights - the customer service I received was the bare minimum (reimbursed the night, what about the inconvenience?) Check out I wanted to get my breakfast from the fridge but kitchen was locked - and no one on the entire staff had a key (fire hazard?)

nice central location
We loved staying at Freehand Miami. We went as a couple, and the pool was a perfect oasis and the cocktails at the Broken Shaker each night were not only delicious, but the ambiance was perfect. Don’t expect much from breakfast, but the free iced coffee in the lobby most of the day is lovely. It’s a nice central location to hop a trolley to south beach, but you should grab match some cute walkable shoes to your outfit.

Almost perfect
Love this hostel, but you need to take a room facing the road otherwise sleep is interrupted by music from the courtyard bar

Wont be back
Not great - gone down hill Lots of issues. Room we booked was meant to be superior, stunk of mould so badly it was hard to breath, had to downgrade even though paid for bigger. Bar service not open until 5:30pm Room was not serviced until 5pm when we had to ask.

Slow front desk staff; no soap in room.. need to get soap from the front desk. Breakfast is really basic.. no egg no protein. Pro: location ; hot shower

Yes to the bar and pool, no to the rooms.
This is a great spot for the bar, restaurant and pool but the private room was disappointing - it was ok, didn't live up to the photos. Appreciate this is a budget hotel/hostel but there are better budget options in the area and a proper hotel isn’t much more. Always a queue to speak to reception and staff were perfunctory rather than friendly. Bar staff were great though. Come here for drinks and dinner but I’d suggest staying elsewhere.
