Sadly a Request for 100% full refund credit
Unfortunately this entire hotel stay was not what was expected. It started with arriving to a property under heavy construction. I was in Grand Rapids for a NCLEX RN exam early 1/10/17. Hotels.com never indicated the property was under construction. I requested a 1st floor very quiet area so I could dedicate my final hours leading up to the exam with a great study environment. I called the morning of my arrival and spoke to Sarah.She was pleasant. She said she would attend to my needs and recommended the 5th floor away from exit or elevator, etc. I requested a note in my reservation for extra pillows prior to my arrival. Nonetheless, upon my arrival at 430-5pmish there was a customer ahead waiting to check in and only 1 associate available at the front desk, Susan. She was tied up on a phone call with an apparent dissatisfied customer whom she expressed a professional apology. Finally after more than 15 minutes and no service, I had requested a maintenance employee to inquire for additional help to check in. She did get another agent. After my brief recap of the importance of my reservation and details to confirm everything was in order with Susan, a pleasant and professional manager, confirmed my request she etc. she decided to move my room to the 6th floor. Got keys eager to study. Called back to return the keys. Room didn't have King bed reserved for hubby and I. Phone didn't work. Fridge broke rattled and loud right next to desk. Alarm clock broke - noises all night long.

I have stayed three times recently and every single time I have some sort of problem. I've been double charged, all three times they didn't have my reservation on file. I witnessed an entire floor complain about coming back to their room to doors wide open due to the owners "switching out furniture " , spoke to one of those people directly and the cops had to get involved because some stuff of theirs was stolen. The staff has no idea what's going on. The "people in charge" don't get back to you in a prompt matter. The hotel itself isn't dirty and the location is great but they have no idea what's going on or how to fix things when a problem arises. I can deal with a computer glitch... but that is not where the problems end st this point. I wouldn't suggest staying there.

No hot water in our room, from either the sink faucet nor the bathtub faucet. After running the water on hottest setting, finally got a lukewarm shallow bath (no pressure for the shower). Am I the first occupant in this room to complain????? Fix it!!!

Their website says they have room service, but they didn't, at least when I was there. Their website also said the construction was over the day I checked in, but it looked like it just started. They should have guests stay on a floor that isn't being remodeled.

Undergoing renovations
Hotel was undergoing renovations so there were numerous construction type things happening. Room floors were not clean. Staff seemed confused by our reservation through hotels.com. Night clerk had to manually enter and morning front desk thought we had not paid even though we had pre-paid for the room. If we had known the hotel was being renovated, we would have stayed elsewhere.
