The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort
Expensive for bad service and old hotel.
We originally booked another Ft. Lauderdale hotel, but upon arrival at airport, learned our reservation had been "lost". The other hotel was planned way in advance for a discounted rate, so I'm guessing they got a higher bidder. We panicked and quickly searched area hotels, and booked Westin. We went from a 2 bedroom suite at other hotel to a small double bed double (with a windowed bathroom), but we were happy to still have a nice property at the beach. We paid premium rates, $350ish per night, plus $40 for parking, and $75 per day resort fee. We certainly did not receive a service level that warranted the cost. The day of the airshow, we thought we'd watch from the hotel. At 7:45 am ALL pool chairs had been reserved. When we called downstairs, they told us to go across the street to the Westin beach area. When we arrived shortly after all the beach chairs were taken and the attendant suggested we "just sit in the sand". Is this what the $75 resort fee covers? Not enough seating? I understand it was a special occasion, but I'm sure ALL guests get charged that fee, however there's not enough "resort" for all guests. Frustrating. The front desk seemed overwhelmed, the manager on duty liked the phrase "there's nothing I can do" which renders him useless for front of the house, and the valet were rude and unprofessional. The restaurant was inconsistent and were more "hooters" than Westin. All this mess cost $1050.50 for 3 days. Bad Experience.

Great birthday stay
We stayed for my birthday, my stay was amazing, we stayed in the south tower on the 11th floor with the beach view and I loved it. I mentioned to the young lady that checked us in it was my birthday and she threw in free cheesecake and chocolate cake 😋. We loved the room, room service was great, the breakfast was awesome a lil price but good. Over it was great will definitely stay again.

The hotel is fine, but the service is lacking-felt like no one was around. Had to search for servers in the restaurants and the valet parking attendants seemed to be gone alot. The price of this "resort" is not worth it. The real saving grace is the location. The views are spectacular.

Very Good8.0
Pricy for the level of quality in rooms.
Room finishes were tired. The hotel was advertised as refurbished. The price was a lot for the condition of the rooms.
