Breakfast excellent. Car park is now quite a walk from the main entrance so bring an umbrella in case of rain. Breakfast really good. My bathroom fan wasn't working well and there was damp on the ceiling. They let me in early which I am very grateful for.

Unexpected

Very friendly casual type of hotel with many visitors attending a conference . Breakfast was outstanding and eaten on wooden tables in a panelled hall. Rooms well equipped and clean. Good value for money.

Amazing location!

The most beautiful building and surroundings- excellent service at reception and during whole stay - breakfast was fresh and hot and served in the historic dining room. We enjoyed a lovely walk round the grounds and gardens which were lovely!

Rubbish hotel.

The hotel looks nothing like its pictures. Not clean and today no food and no hot water. Very upset and won’t be staying again have cancelled my next trip in Sept at my cost so not happy.

Madingley Hall has the wow factor. It’s such a beautiful building and grounds. Inside, rooms are repurposed student rooms (I assume) and are basic, but a good night’s sleep was had. Breakfast buffet was great. It’s not 5 star but for the price paid and the wonderful surroundings it’s a great place to stay.

As always a good stay. Would like a bit more choice of food in the cafe/restaurant. Lots of choice at breakfast.
Stephen, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Lovely place to stay for something a bit different and away from the bustle of central Cambridge. Staff all lovely. Clean and comfortable. Beautiful setting.
Kathryn, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The building was beautiful. The rooms were dated and in need of updating, the floor in our shower room was peeling up. There was a TV in the room but it was tiny and to the right of the bed which gave me a stiff neck if I wanted to watch. The 'Bistro' was basic and only sold very basic food. The breakfast was plentiful but served canteen style and from heated dishes, not cooked to order. I would suggest this needs some work to be classified as a 4 star hotel.

Beautiful Madingley Hall and Gardens.

Madingley Hall really is beautiful and the grounds are incredible. It is the most wonderful place to explore and we spent a lot longer than we thought we would wandering the grounds and the house. The history of the house and gardens is of course fascinating and there is an abundance of information available on both. The staff are extremely friendly and work hard to make your stay a memorable one. They are also very knowledgeable about the history of Madingley and happy to answer questions. Breakfast was great although I'd prefer non filter coffee but that's not really an issue. The food was plentiful, good quality and hot! We'll definitely be back. We have more exploring to do and would love to see the gardens through the seasons.
