10/10 Exceptional

Just a standard visit to family ideal located.
Colin, 4-night trip

No complaints but the toilet roll holder is broken. Also, I arrived late at night and it was difficult to read the names of the buildings. A light above the hotel name would be a big help. Thank you

Helpful and Spacious

Self check so do check your emails. Luckily as I was attempting to park (4 hours during the day or you can request a permit), a very helpful man named Martin allowed me to park and then showed me my room (as email was in junk). Lovely big twin room with comfy bed. Great staff!

I liked this place, it may seem dated to some but had everything I needed
Andy, 4-night trip

Great location and easy access and reasonable price for what you get, however this is the second time I have stayed here in the garden room where you have to be very very patient waiting for the hot water to arrive at the shower and sink in the morning. Could do with thicker blackout curtains unless you like getting up with the sunrise. That said I will be booking again in the near future.

Beautiful House

The house is beautiful with period features and a would have once had a very grand appearance, this is still quite evident today, I will most definitely come back, excellent service, cleanliness etc.
Terry, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The hotel is located in a pleasant residential area, which makes for a quiet and peaceful stay. The check-in instructions were clear and detailed, so I had no trouble finding and accessing my room. Unfortunately, when I arrived around 4 PM, the room had not been cleaned. However, fresh towels and new shower products were provided, which made me think the cleaning step might have been overlooked. Since I was only staying for two nights and still felt comfortable, I simply flipped the sheets and continued with my stay.

The property was beautiful from the outside but the facilities were very old-fashioned, beds extremely hard. We liked the continental breakfast which was a self-serve option

Basic but adequate

Hotel provided all it advertised but it's basic. Manager is friendly and helpful and the hotel is ideally situated to explore the area.

Not a hotel

Not really a hotel. Just a series of locked rooms you let yourself in with a code but never see anyone. No breakfast even though included. Very uncomfortable beds.

Reasonable for the price

Colleagues were aghast at choice, but if you're happy with basic and go in eyes open then the room was functional, tidy and clean. Had necessary bed, bathroom plus a fridge and microwave if needed. A little bit cold and slightly noisy till traffic died down given old windows but did the job just fine and well for the price. Don't expect Ritz, but fair quality for the price paid.

A bad place!

Terrible place which was undergoing major works. Should be closed while these are ongoing. No parking availability (taken over by contractors). The inclusive breakfast was non existent! A place to avoid

2/10 Poor

Check-in fine. Old, half eaten food left in fridge alongside new - Yuck! Bin in bathroom hadn't been cleaned out. Vile

Decent priced property for area

I have stayed in the property several times. I find it a decent property with good sized rooms. It is cleaned to an acceptable standard and always appears neat and tidy. There is no on site service, with breakfasts left in the room Prior to the COVID Lock downs, there was also a kitchen on the first floor where guests could supplement the breakfast provisions. Extra bread, butter, jam and fruit were always available here - and on occasion, ham, cheese and pork pies were sometimes in the fridge. This kitchen has now closed down, and the breakfasts provided in the room have been scaled down considerably. In particular, there is no longer bread, butter, jam or a toaster in the room.

This is not an Hotel ! Merely a doss house with keypad access to individual rooms Room 10 had no heating and we fled from this dreadful place after the first night ! Cannot understand how they get away with it

Check in was something ive never experienced before with no reception and having to find the room by phoning Martin; i assume to be the manager, for direction and have him text the door codes to me. He was very helful; I cant fault his support. The room was very basic, with rough dated decore and furniture. The door to the room was thin with an unusable bolt, anyone using nearbye rooms could easily be heard, thankfully they were well behaved. The curtains were so thin and let day light in and the nets were torn. The grounds and entrance were very unkempt, including a dirty stack of chairs and an overflowing bucket of water and cigarette butts, near the main entrance. The bed mattress was uncomfortable with springs easily felt. However, the bedding and towels were nice and clean and the room was gloriously warm. I wont stay again.

A perfectly adequate hotel for a stop-over for a weekend appointment. I arrived late evening on the Friday, my arrival having been delayed by traffic. The pin code procedures for unlocking front door and room worked well but there was no illumination in the porch so gaining entry after dark was an event. One of the disadvantages of having a "no staff after hours". Once in, the facilities were clean and adequate and I would be quite happy to use it again but it is not some where that I would use normally. The room was well fitted out and had 'fridge, cooker, and all normal/necessary fittings; however, although I was aware that at the weekends there were no staff, I understood that some basic facilities for breakfast would be left in the room. Tea, coffee and two biscuits is about as basic as one can get! My room was clean and thankfully my bed was very comfortable but I saw no staff through-out my stay although information before hand suggested there would be someone on duty over night. An interesting stay that, surprisingly, I would be prepared to repeat but next time I would be better prepared. Any recommendation to friends would be heavily caveated!

The room was ideal for a solo traveller, like myself, in a peaceful area of Cheltenham. It was clean and tidy, with a nice view from the front of the building.
