Great for a short stay

Our room was fine for a 1 night stay but I would not like longer because we had to share a bathroom and as there was not a sink in there he room it made life difficult. People with any mobility problems would find the very narrow windy stairs a big problem . We had a meal which was very well presented and the staff were very friendly and competent.

Amazing experience

Was very welcoming, clean and a good atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble. Very close to shopping centre, local parks, shepton prison. Food was beautiful, owners lovely to chat too, always clean and tidy.

Room ok for the money. Food good but they did not have the likes off mushrooms or beans as listed. Breakfast was full English for £10.00 or a bacon sandwich was the same price.

Welcoming small inn

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Kitchen was closing by the time I arrived at 20:50, but I got a fantastic pizza. Good beer. Room was clean and comfortable, if a bit tired. Separate shower room and toilet were clean with quality toiletries. However ceiling light wasn't working. I'd stay again.

Staff very nice and helpful but toom was had stale/stuffy smell. Right on road and so quite noisy. Room decoration and furniture need updating. Difficult to see how this is a four-star, upscale B&B.

Lovely for a short stay but be prepared

Stayed one night between visits to local area. Gentleman behind a very busy bar trying to deal with that plus us. Locals friendly as was the barman who manage to get us a table as we were stuck in traffic and arrived later than we had planned. Found parking near by so no issues there. Be aware shower/toilet room is shared with the other 3 bedrooms, no problem during our stay as don’t think there were any other guests. TV in room but no kettle as I was expecting as it’s on the list on my confirmation under home comforts. Looking at our paperwork on return home it does say coffee/tea in shared area under the header food and drink, this shared area was not pointed out to us. However there was a bottle of sparkling water in our room and as I said above we only stayed one night. We had to ask about the morning how to get out/what to do with the key. Also had to ask about the Wi-Fi code. Everything was very clean and toiletries were available in the shower room, towels in your room. We had a road side room, the windows are singled glazed and the road is noisy, especially when the lorries hit a dip in the road, it is also well lit by the outside street lamp. So if noise/light affects you be prepared with ear plugs and eye covers. We found the bed comfy but only one pillow each.

2/10 Poor

Very old outdated, damp walls mould, wallpaper falling off the walls..one bathroom with one toilet shared between 5 guest rooms and very, very, very noisy from the traffic on main road nowhere to park as theres no car park...and even ivy growing in through bathroom window from outside! Would not recommend this to anyone!!

This is a true local spot — expect pints being poured right at reception! Jamie, who runs the place, is a gem. Room was small with a charming view, though right on a busy road. Shared bathroom was clean but not the most convenient setup. Bonus points for the backyard garden and a great selection of proper beers.

Very helpful and friendly staff, it's a bit rustic, but clean and really nice rooms. Food good also. Friendly local pub feel. I will be back next year

2/10 Poor

Dirty hotel and Spiteful Owners

Check in was clumsy as hotel isn’t open on Mondays. Rooms were basic, but dated and in need of renovation. 2nd night room was invaded by vermin coming through floor after eating through carpet. Had to sleep in car through fear and didn’t return. Asked for refund but refused and false allegation's of drug taking on property to counter claim for refund

2/10 Poor

It was noisy, the traffic was 24/7. The place is very old and so are the facilities. My room was on the road and the window glass is very thin, so it was cold including the bathroom which is down the corridor, it was cold. Had to stand outside on arrival and use my phone to ring them and ask for the door to be opened!! She was a little bit friendly, but after showing me the room, I never saw her again.. it's not an experience I want to repeat.

Lovely pub with great owners and good homemade Italian food, only downside was the actual room unfortunately ,shower in need of refurbishment including shower door not fixed properly to shower. the kettle has obviously not been used in months as it had mould inside, tried cleaning it and boiled it a few times but decided not to make tea in the end as I was put off. I’m sure the owners would have replaced the kettle if I raised the issue but as we were tired decided not to make a fuss. Lovely pub but unfortunately the room needs a some TLC , would happily stay again in future if improvements are carry out to rooms .
