Nightlife in Weston-super-Mare - Open-Air Films, Traditional Pubs, and Late-Night Clubs
The nightlife options in Weston range from lively bars and nightclubs featuring live DJs to quaint traditional pubs with local ales and musicians. Every June, the massive Glastonbury Festival takes over a nearby Somerset farm, where you can dance till dawn and see the world’s biggest music acts. Movie buffs can hit up a local theatre or catch one of the open-air screenings held throughout the year.

Weston has a wide assortment of pubs and bars to choose from. For a West Country pint in a traditional setting, you can squeeze into the intimate bar at the Criterion. While there, you can munch on some bar snacks, cozy up to the wintertime fire, or test your smarts at the weekly quiz night. If you’d like to explore more than 1 bar, you can start at Unwined Wine Bar, which is a short walk from the sea. It offers outdoor seating where you can sip champagne and is close to other nightlife options in the town centre.

You can come to Unwined to sample over 30 wines from around the world, as well as continental beers and cocktails. If you’re feeling peckish, the bar also has frequent tapas nights that are a great bargain.

Movie nights
There are 2 classic movie houses in the area where you can take in the latest releases. In Weston town centre, the Odeon is an art deco masterpiece that has retained its original features both inside and out. The Curzon, located a 30-minute drive north in Clevedon, has been restored to its original Victorian style thanks to Heritage Lottery Funds and features a row of shops at ground level. There are also regular open-air cinema nights in different locations throughout the year courtesy of Backyard Cinema.

You can revisit classic films on a night out. Screens are erected in outdoor venues like Weston Quarry and Glastonbury Abbey. Bring a blanket or deck chair, and settle back with food and drinks from the mobile bar.

The Curzon is one of the oldest continuously operating cinemas in the world dating back to 1912. It has 270 comfy seats, as well as a bar and lounge area where you can relax before the show.

Live music and entertainment
Weston is as known for its live music scene as its expansive beaches. Playhouse Theatre hosts both lively musicals and pop tribute bands, which make for an exciting family-friendly night out. You’ll also find a few small venues scattered around town that host local bands and the occasional big-name artist on a national tour. The most celebrated spots for local live acts include Scallys pub, Bonds Wine Bar, and the Imperial pub, while the Glastonbury Festival, which takes place near Weston, offers the ultimate live music event with 5 days of international artists performing at an open-air farm.

Weston’s nightclubs
If you fancy dancing until the early hours, Weston has a couple of renowned nightspots that pull in big-name DJs. Club Vision is known for spinning the latest tunes and throwing the biggest parties. It’s open until 4 AM on the weekends and features 3 rooms pumping out different genres of dance music. If you’re in the mood for more nostalgic music, look out for ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s nights at various venues in town. Many of the clubs are located in the centre of town and within walking distance of most guesthouses and hotels.
