Houston Zoo

 

Home to over 6,000 animals from every corner of the globe, Houston Zoo boasts rare species like graceful Malayan tigers, majestic African lions, fearsome Komodo dragons, and adorable red pandas. There’s also a fantastic children’s zoo, where youngsters can get up close and personal with farm animals, explore an authentic bat cave, and leap around a beautiful butterfly pavilion.

Downtown Aquarium

 

This centrally located aquarium houses over 200 amazing species of aquatic life. You can take a tour through an atmospheric Louisiana swamp, and enjoy thrilling encounters with catfish, bullfrogs, and gators. You can then marvel at a shipwrecked Spanish galleon, which is today home to eerie underwater creatures. It’s not all about sea-dwellers, however – the complex is also home to some breathtakingly beautiful white Bengal tigers, who roam around a replica of an ancient Maharajah’s temple.

Memorial Park

 

This glorious expanse of greenery is one of the largest public parks in the United States.
