Whether it's basking in awe-inspiring classical music at the gorgeous 19th-Century Concertgebouw, or walking off a hard day's sightseeing at the truly epic-sized Amsterdamse Bos park which stretches over 1,000 hectares, Apollolaan has something for everyone. Discover what this relaxed neighborhood is all about in style with a boat tour down the Amstel River, or head through the business district to the Amsterdam EXPO for a spectacular exhibition.
No Amsterdam visit would be complete without a leisurely boat ride down one of the trickling canals that make up 'The Canal Loop' and snakes between the streets, like the Keizergracht or the Prinsengracht. The world-famous Anne Frank House, steeped in Amsterdam's recent history and heart-wrenching tragedy is also an absolute must for history buffs, while Rembrandt House is an intriguing insight into the mind of an artistic genius.
They say "all roads lead to Dam Square", and with the fabulous Neo-Classical Royal Palace, the gothic Nieuwe Kerk church and white pillar of the National Monument dotted around, it's easy to see why. Alongside the architectural splendor, De Bijenkorf, with its stunning selection of designer labels is a shopaholic's delight, while the buzzing Central Station and the infamous Red Light District truly make this the beating heart of Amsterdam.
As the name suggests, Amsterdam's Museum Quarter is the go-to spot for history-lovers and culture-vultures. Immerse yourself in the work of the Netherlands' favourite son at The Van Gogh Museum, satisfy your modern tastes at The Stedelijk, or explore the entire national art collection at the Rijksmuseum. Afterwards, the vibrant nightclubs of Leidseplein are the perfect places to let off some steam after a relaxing day of galleries.
A sprawling 120-acres stretch of tranquil green nestled within the busy Amsterdam metropolis, the Vondelpark is where visitors and natives alike go to kick-back, relax and watch the world go by. But attractions and entertainment still pepper the park, with street performers, buskers and free concerts sitting alongside the sunbathers and roller-skaters. For a joyous change of pace, take in a show at the Filmmuseum or the Openluchttheater.
"A great place to stay"

It is the 4th time I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Amsterdam. The staff are simply delightful, always friendly and ready to assist, nothing is a problem for them. Beds are great and the sleep pack they supply that one sprays on the pillow really works. Position is great, close to Centraal Station, tourist attractions, and amenities for canal rides or bus trips.

hotel was eminently functional and quite a good price. staff were great. amsterdam is easy to get around in so, no comment on the location - it was nice to have a park to look out on. the only thing i could say was that my room didn't have any heating. maybe the heater was broken.... otherwise, recommended.

Hotel good -- would have preferred a room with a view. -- However breakfast included and superb- Staff friendly - Very close to the Palace and the square where all the action is but also down a quiet side street so best of both worlds. Will stay there again.

The ease of booking the accommodation, hassle free change/amendment for extending the trip was a pleasure, notwithstanding that the accommodation and quality of service is exceptional. The Conservatorium - A recommended must.
