The hustling, bustling epicenter of the city teems with life 24/7. From the retail mecca of the Underground City mall to the peaceful tranquility of the Lachine Canal park, Downtown Montreal is a cultural feast on the banks of the Old Port. Tour the awe-inspiring architectural splendor of the Cathedral of Marie-Reine-du-Monde, with its golden gilded ceilings, or scream “Allez les Canadiens!” at a fast, furious Bell Centre ice hockey game.
A haven for adrenaline-junkies and outdoors-lovers, with pretty tree-lined avenues, Laval's just a stone's throw from Downtown Montreal. Experience "flowboarding" (a mix of surfing and skateboarding!) at the Maeva Surf wave center and feel the wonder of floating through the air at the SkyVenture indoor skydiving center. Or simply enjoy tranquility amid the gardens and brooks of the Centre de la Nature.
A chilled-out district by the St Lawrence waterside, Longueuil is swathed in green spaces, including Parc Michel-Chartrand – perfect for walks and relaxation. Look out as well for the striking Neo-Gothic arches and spires of the Co-Cathedral of Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue. Sports fans will relish Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, site of so many high-octane Formula One thrill-rides, and you can show off your swing at the 18-hole Parcours Du Cerf course.
When in Old Montreal you have to marvel at the Neo-Gothic glory of Notre-Dame Basilica, with its ornate illuminated ceilings and booming Casavant organ that bathes you in walls of sound. Or for a taste of cosmopolitan Montreal, stroll down to the Old Port – first used as a trading post in the 17th Century, it's now where designer shops and smart restaurants are arrayed by the rolling St Lawrence River.
One of the hippest neighborhoods in Canada, Plateau Mont Royal is all about quirky old buildings, vintage shops, and bars serving up artisan beer. Galleries and ethnic restaurants can be explored on the lively thoroughfare of Saint Laurent Boulevard, while the funky Quartier Latin is jam-packed with shops, tempting bakeries, and nightspots – particularly the popular meeting spot that is Saint Denis Street.

Loved my stay at the cute little hotel. Even though it is small, it's the perfect place to put your bags down and sleep. It's close to major metro and bus stations and the owner is fabulous and helpful.
Great stay and will do it again!
